User rights provide additional tools for users to contribute to the wiki's improvement and maintenance. The following page details the various user rights available on the Victorious Wiki.
User rights are not necessary for a user to contribute, as any user can edit the wiki and provide suggestions for improvements to the site. However, if you are interested in gaining user rights to support your editing activities, please read further below to learn about user rights and how to obtain them on the Victorious Wiki.
What are the different user rights?[]
Rollbacks can use a [rollback] button to quickly revert repeated vandalism to a page by the same user. This ability is particularly useful when an admin is unavailable to take action against vandals. Note that this is intended for a batch of edits that require reversion; where possible, users should still use the undo button to describe the reason for reverting an edit.
Content moderators have the following abilities to help maintain the content of the wiki:
- Editing and moving fully protected pages
- Deleting and undeleting pages and files
- Editing and moving protected files
- Rollback
- Protecting and unprotecting pages
Thread moderators have the following abilities to help moderate the discussions on the wiki:
- Removing and restoring threads and replies by any user
- Closing and reopening replies
- Manage Discussions categories and move posts from one category to another
- Deleting blog comments
- Editing and deleting article comments
Administrators have all rights of content moderators, thread moderators, and rollbacks, and in addition, are entrusted with the following abilities:
- Blocking and unblocking users from editing and other actions
- Granting and revoking the rollback and thread moderator rights
- Editing the community's skin and format and whitelisted MediaWiki pages
Bureaucrats are administrators who, in addition to the admin functions, also have the ability to change the user rights for administrators and content moderators and promote users to bureaucrat.
How can I obtain user rights?[]
Users seeking to gain user rights should request rollback, content moderator, or thread moderator rights. Administrators and bureaucrats would only be considered among users who have already been a content or thread moderator.
To receive consideration for user rights, a user must have been active on the Victorious Wiki for at least 1 month and made at least 100 edits to the site. This provides us with a basis of your quality of contribution to the site and an understanding of why you may need the user rights you're requesting. Please direct any requests for user rights to an active administrator's message wall with which user rights you are requesting, why you are interested in them, and what you will do with them.
