Sonya is the aunt of Tori and Trina Vega. Her exact relationship to the Vega family is unknown.
Sonya is first mentioned in The Wood, where she called Tori. She has a puppy named Ankimo. Her and Tori's first known phone conversation was part of the mash-up between Tori and Beck's fake phone conversation. Sonya and Tori seem to be very close. This is because she only told Tori that she bought a new car, not to anyone else even Trina, probably because she does not trust her. Whether she is this close with Trina is unknown.
